We are looking for an Account Director for our office in the Meatpacking District of New York City. If you’re up for the challenge you have a chance to join us in the pursuit of becoming the leading digital agency globally. We are well underway with offices worldwide and across the USA. But there is still work to be done.
As Account Director, your day will look something like this:
Your job is to know your clients’ business! You have deep Retail/CPG industry knowledge, you keep on top the evolving competitive landscape of said industry to know what the clients’ competitors are doing, and you can define initiatives and projects that can help them. You also understand Valtech’s value proposition and solution offerings thoroughly and can articulate to your clients’ exactly how Valtech can help them drive toward their business goals.
You are at home in front of the client – you can talk strategy, big picture stuff, or tactical details, and your clients are going to look to you as their partner who can deliver both thought-leadership as well as world class delivery. They know you’ll be the one who manages the highest levels of quality from the sales process through solution delivery.
You are involved in strategic engagements as strategist or executive advisor. Your clients appreciate this and reward it by being willing to pay for your time. You enable our internal delivery teams by providing them the overview and guidance that allow them to be proactive and on point with your client’s strategy. And you’re a team player. You’ll contribute to ensuring effective team performance by alignment of sales and delivery. You’ll be a point of escalation for the client as well as the project team.
You’re also here to help us grow our business. Your primary focus will be your portfolio of clients, where you will build and follow a strong engagement plan that drives Valtech to becoming their primary digital partner. You will also reserve some time for acquiring new clients. That means your eyes and ears are open to new opportunities. You can network, open the doors - particularly at decision maker level, scope the engagement, and close the deal. All in a consultative manner that leaves the client confident that Valtech is the right partner for them for the long haul.
You manage client relationships as well as local and/or regional relationships with the business partner community to achieve revenue targets of $3MM to $6MM annually.
Through your contributions to both client & non-client based initiatives, you’ll be an active participant in the growth of the company and the local office.
Here’s what we expect from you:
Since your primary duty will be to engage your customers, you have to like to work with people. You need to be outgoing, play well with others and be really good at listening to what your customers are and are not saying. You’re responsible for their overall satisfaction.
Ambition is good. Perfectionism is good. And if you have both, it’s even better.
You’ve had a similar position for the last 5 years or more, most likely in another digital agency or ‘client side’. So your track record is proven when it comes to digital strategy, customer experience, marketing planning, content management, e-commerce, and innovation in the Retail/CPG area.
You’re used to working at the highest levels of client organizations and you have a demonstrated ability to understand complexities that manifest in unique ways with different clients and various industries.
And because it can’t really be emphasized enough, you need to know how our clients work and think. You need to understand their environment, speak to them in a language they can understand and do what’s best for them and us.
