Rally Merchants and the Community Around a Dynamic Local Economy

To rally neighbourhood merchants around Yellow Pages and its online referral products, Valtech was given the mandate to come up with an engagement campaign targeting the Montreal market.  In 2014, 5,000 new merchants were signed. For 2015, the goal was 10,000 new conversions.

The team came up with Shop the neighbourhood – Mes achats, Mon quartier, a local visibility campaign for small, medium-sized and large local merchants. The campaign involved designing a strong brand and curating unique, merchant-generated content. The content exists on different platforms developed and managed by Valtech (website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest). Thanks to #shopthehood, merchants receive financial benefits and prizes. The campaign was supported by a strong media strategy.

Over 10,000 New Clients Signed in a Few Weeks

Thanks to merchant and community engagement, the campaign saw over 35 million impressions and a 30% increase in the social media fan and follower base; it attracted over 171,000 unique visitors to the site and 115,000 other interactions online.
