The role  

Please note, we are only accepting applicants from the provinces of Ontario and Québec for this role. For Québec-based candidates, fluency in English is necessary because the position entails collaboration with teams based in the rest of Americas and occasionally in Europe.

As a Program Director, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 10 years of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact. You are focused on Cloud Migration & Modernization engagements, you are passionate about solving complex challenges and constantly strive to push the boundaries of what good looks like. You bring 10-15 years of experience in Delivery leadership, of which a minimum of 5 years were spent leading Cloud Migration & Modernization programs.     

A strong grasp of both Agile frameworks and the Waterfall methodology is a must-have, along with a demonstrated track record of driving successful outcomes using both. You will lead programs where scope, timeline, and budget must be managed with rigor, while ensuring delivery of contracted scope within fixed-fee constraints while actively managing margin targets and financial performance. This is a leadership role requiring someone who will bring strategy, structure, accountability, and clarity in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

Role responsibilities

Program management and delivery  

  • Assume overall responsibility for the delivery of high-quality solutions  
  • Monitor schedules, milestones, budget and resources, while ensuring risk control and the quality of all deliverables  
  • Implement best practices in project management, combining traditional and agile methods  
  • Ensure regular reporting to your clients, internal teams and the Account Manager  
  • Responsible for delivery processes, as well as organizational and technical aspects to ensure their proper functioning 

Customer relations & strategy  

  • Cultivate a relationship of trust with clients and ensure their satisfaction 
  • Challenge organizations/processes by proposing suitable solutions with the goal of continuous improvement  
  • Actively participate in commercial responses (RFI, RFP, proposals) and in defining the account development strategy in collaboration with pursuit teams   

Leadership & coordination  

  • Operationally manage project teams in a multicultural context, promoting the "One Valtech" spirit  
  • Supporting the Head of Delivery in mentoring project managers, sharing best practices, tools and models and contributing to their skills development  
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders (Valtech teams, service providers, clients)  

Vision & transformation  

  • Collaborating with clients on strategic topics such as digital, organizational or business transformation, in partnership with internal experts 
  • Identify the gaps between projects and the client's strategic objectives, then propose corrective action plans 
  • Supporting customer initiatives related to data and artificial intelligence 

Must have qualifications

  • To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 
  • 10–15 years of delivery leadership experience, including 5+ years hands-on leading Cloud Migration & Modernization programs 
  • Mastery of the different phases of a project, from strategy to build to operation  
  • Hands-on experience leading projects in cloud migration (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) and data/AI 
  • Demonstrated experience managing fixed-fee engagements with accountability for both deliverables and margin performance 
  • Proven track record managing complex digital programs with annual budgets ranging from $5M to $20M 
  • Pre-sales experience including coordination, deck preparation, client presentation and pitching, as well as planning and budget development  
  • Working as a team and uniting the various stakeholders around a common goal  
  • As a proactive individual, you are able to manage complex situations and provide concrete, tailored solutions to your clients. With your teaching skills, you are capable of building trusting relationships with your contacts.  
  • An ability to take ownership of technical topics, in collaboration with other expert profiles in technology, marketing, business, and partners  
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment (onsite / nearshore / offshore)  
  • Proficiency in Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, SharePoint, etc. (or their equivalents)  
  • Excellent command of waterfall and agile project management  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French 

Nice to have qualifications  

  • Demonstrated experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 
  • Hands-on experience leading projects in digital experience platforms (e.g., Adobe, Sitecore, Optimizely) 
  • One or more successful cloud migrations from source to Azure

The benefits  

This is a full-time position based in Montreal, Quebec. 

Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service:

  • A comprehensive insurance plan, where you can choose the module that best suits your needs—Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The employer may contribute up to 80% of your coverage depending on the selected module. This plan includes short- and long-term disability coverage.
