Competencies:
There is a wide range of technologies being used within the tribe. We are looking for people with experience in the following:
/ Implementing or contributing towards a microservice-based QA strategy
/ Working to help embed a behaviorally driven approach, such as BDD
/ Experience in developing and executing automated tests in different platforms using Python
/ UI test experience, ideally Cypress
/ API test experience, ideally Supertest (other similar API automated testing experience is ok)
/ Performance testing, ideally K6 or JMeter
/ Contract testing
/ Code Repository (Gitlab)
/ Cloud environment — AWS
/ CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins/Gitlab)
We don’t expect you to be experienced in everything listed above, we are realistic. What is important is having some of the skills, but also having ideas to bring to the table, and wanting to have an input into how we do things and want to pick up new skills along the way.
The Role (Middle\Senior\Lead)
As a Middle QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be expected to:
/ support your squad in embedding a test-focused, automation-first approach, whilst delivering products that align with our client’s key business goals;
/ help your squad understand and implement our new microservice-focused QA strategy, whilst looking to share your knowledge throughout the QA community and wider tribe;
/ drive a QA mindset and champion quality within the squad that you are in;
/ work within our model, Agile software development. For these roles, you’ll need experience in Agile practice such as BDD.
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be expected to:
/ support current teams in embedding a test-focused, automation-first approach, whilst delivering products that align with our client’s key business goals;
/ good, demonstratable skills/experience around framework definition (and implementation/roll-out of the framework)
/ assist in the evolution of our new microservice-focused QA strategy, working within a squad but also sharing knowledge throughout the QA community and wider tribe;
/ have the ability to coach and mentor other team members;
/ work within our model, Agile software development. For these roles, you’ll need experience in Agile practice such as BDD.
As a Lead QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be expected to:
/ lead your squad in embedding a test-focused, automation-first approach, whilst delivering products that align with our client’s key business goals;
/ good, demonstratable skills/experience around framework definition (and implementation/roll-out of the framework)
/ working with the TVG Tribe QA Lead, contributing to the evolution of our new microservice-focused QA strategy, working within a squad but also sharing knowledge throughout the QA community and wider tribe. An example of this would include helping to define our new performance test strategy.
/ have the ability to coach and mentor other team members;
/ work within our model, Agile software development. For these roles, you’ll need experience in Agile practice such as BDD.
As a consultant and as a binding part between engineers and our clients you are expected to develop expertise both in technology and the means to communicate complex concepts and rationale to non-techies. We’ll encourage and support this with frequent opportunities to share ideas internally. We also have consultants who frequently deliver at regional, national, and global conferences.
