The role
As a Compensations & Benefits Lead, you will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the compensation and benefits strategy across americas, ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment with Valtech’s global guidelines. This position serves as the regional technical and strategic reference, driving key initiatives, collaborating with global teams, supporting leaders and HRBPs in informed decision-making, and overseeing the regional C&B team (currently managing one Senior Analyst).
Role responsibilities
- Design and implement the regional C&B strategy in alignment with business goals and global standards.
- Establish governance, policies, and salary/bonus/benefit review cycles across the Americas.
- Collaborate with HRBPs, Finance, and Business Leaders to align talent strategies with organizational needs.
- Lead regional projects and actively participate in global initiatives (e.g., band harmonization, retention frameworks, benefit policies).
- Manage and develop the Americas C&B team.
- Provide strategic reports, market analysis, and economic models to support key decisions.
- Handle market surveys and benchmarking tools, identify trends, and take corrective actions.
- Support HRBPs in complex decisions: strategic hiring, off-cycle promotions, inflation adjustments, etc.
Must have qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Solid experience in Compensation & Benefits
Minimum 6–8 years of experience in compensation and benefits, including direct ownership of C&B strategy design, program implementation, and analytics. - Regional exposure across the Americas
Demonstrated experience working across multiple countries in the region, ideally including North and Latin America (e.g., U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina). - Project and/or team leadership
Experience leading C&B projects and/or managing teams, with ability to influence across global and regional levels. - Strong analytical and modeling skills
Proficiency in Excel and other analysis tools to build compensation models, conduct pay benchmarking, and develop reports. - Experience with salary review cycles and governance
Skilled in managing merit processes, bonus and incentive plans, off-cycle reviews, and policy development. - Market benchmarking knowledge
Comfortable working with compensation surveys (Radford, Mercer, WTW, Culpepper, etc.) and analyzing competitive market data. - Strong stakeholder and consulting skills
Proven ability to advise HRBPs and senior leaders, manage competing priorities, and influence decision-making. - Fluent in English (written and spoken)
English is the working language for regional and global collaboration. - Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields
Nice to have qualifications
- Mid-level in Spanish and/or Portuguese
Valuable for working closely with LATAM stakeholders and markets. - Experience with HRIS platforms
Especially systems supporting compensation management (e.g., Dayforce, Workday). - Knowledge of equity or long-term incentive programs
Understanding of global incentive structures and their tax/regulatory implications across countries. - Experience working in consulting firms or fast-paced matrix environments
Exposure to diverse compensation practices and complex stakeholder environments. - Experience with job architecture and leveling frameworks
Familiarity with global job families, pay bands, and mapping processes. - Understanding of DEI principles applied to pay equity and benefits
Including conducting internal pay equity audits and supporting inclusive total rewards practices. - Familiarity with global mobility or international transfers
Especially in terms of compensation packages and benefits implications.
