Welcome to "Experience Valtech", our series spotlighting the incredible people who bring experience innovation to life.
A deep belief in people. A commitment to values. And a quiet confidence in being exactly who she is. These are the qualities that define Eliana Camacho’s journey.
Today, she’s the Senior Vice President of People & Culture for Valtech in the Americas — leading strategy across a fast-growing super-region. But for Eliana (or “Eli” to those who know her), it all started with a background in psychology and a belief that people are the heart of any transformation.
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Eli joined Valtech through the acquisition of Graion in 2016. But her journey with the business started long before that.
The same person that hired me 12 years ago is still part of the company and we still work together. This isn’t common across many companies and, to me, it’s amazing.
Building Something Bigger
Eli began as an HR Manager. Over time, she helped grow Valtech’s Latin American footprint — supporting expansion into Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, aligning regional teams and leading People & Culture through multiple M&As.
But nothing quite compared to 2024 — the year Valtech acquired Kin + Carta and welcomed 2,000 new colleagues across the region.
“From a People & Culture perspective, it was quite demanding. My team and I are at the front line of each M&A, and each integration comes with a lot of expectations — on both sides. We need to do our best to meet those expectations, while always continuing to show up well and take care of our teams.”
Navigating mergers, shifting cultures and redefining ways of working, Eli stepped into her current role as SVP for the Americas with clarity and purpose.
“We’ve always worked closely across the region, but now we’ve unified. It’s an opportunity to create more connected experiences for our people North to South.”
Culture You Can Experience
What’s kept Eli at Valtech for more than a decade isn’t just career growth. It’s the people. The values. The feeling of belonging.
“You’re encouraged to be yourself. And it’s not just words. It’s something I’ve felt repeatedly.”
She smiles when she remembers the advice she’s received over the years.
“I once went to my leader for help and he said, ‘Just be yourself.’ I thought: okay, sure, but could you be a little more specific?” she laughs.
“Then another leader told me the exact same thing. So, I took it, and I try to practice it constantly. It’s a mindset that I really cherish. This is how people will get to know you more, trust you.”
For Eli, being herself means leading with honesty, empathy and accountability.
“Even if we make a mistake, we always try to be open and true to where we’re coming from, as this builds strong teams with a lot of resilience.”
Accelerating Action Together
As Valtech continues to prioritize diversity in all it does, Eli’s leadership reflects what true inclusion looks like: not just policy but daily action.
I love how we apply the Valtech values — share, dare, care — every day. It makes so much of a difference. Share your information within your teams. Care about how everyone else is feeling, especially while we’re navigating through challenges. We build trust and we delegate and empower people to dare.
Her story is part of Valtech’s International Women’s Month campaign, under the theme “Accelerate Action.” It’s a reminder that systemic change isn’t about slogans. It’s about showing up for people, every day. Real equity isn’t one-size-fits-all. Everyone’s story is different. So, the way we support them must be different too.
Finding Balance in a Fast-Paced Role
As a senior leader, Eli manages an intense workload. Her key to balance is routine.
“I’m very organized. I need to know what’s happening, when. Otherwise, I never really switch off.”
She carves out time for regular workouts with her husband, shutting laptops, heading to the park, and training side by side. It’s a ritual she protects fiercely.
“It helps me clear my head. Having that routine makes all the difference for my focus, for my mental health, for everything.”
And her other must-have is time with loved ones.
“Even something small like a weekend brunch with family keeps me grounded.”
Looking Ahead
As Valtech continues its global transformation, Eli is focused on aligning culture, systems and experience across countries, teams and time zones.
“We’re in a good place working Globally with the P&C Team. Much more connected. The next step is fully aligning how we operate on a global level. From systems to communication, even mindset. We’re building something stronger, together.”
To anyone considering a future at Valtech, Eli offers this:
I learned that being yourself, bringing your full personality, and letting your values show, is highly regarded in Valtech. If you’re doing your work and remaining true to yourself, you will gain the trust of your team members while also contributing to shaping a great environment.
