Exploring data challenges with Caroline Criado Perez

On behalf of Valtech and our partner Tableau, we would like to invite you to attend our upcoming virtual event on Wednesday 23rd November at 9.00am GMT.

It’s broadly accepted that decisions are more effective if they’re based on data – but does that really lead to better outcomes?

Through demonstrations and discussions, we aim to shed light on the risks data bias has in decision making, exploring how we can prevent that bias carrying forward. Poor decisions ultimately secure misplaced trust because they’re “based on data”, but our aim is to challenge this notion. Organisational culture and industry can be resistant to a data-driven approach. Consequently, poor data quality can make it difficult to extract meaningful insights and failing to embrace open data risks missed opportunities across the industry.

To explore common challenges that impede effective, data-driven decision making, Valtech have partnered with Tableau to bring you an insightful event that will include:

  • Keynote speaker Caroline Criado Perez, award-winning author of Invisible Women, exploring and exposing data bias with us;

  • Tableau sharing industry insights;

  • And our panel exploring their experiences, addressing some of the common challenges mentioned above.

As part of our panel, we’ll have Sophie Adams (OZEV, previously Ofgem), Giuseppe Sollazo (NHS, previously DfT), Louisa Nolan (Public Health Wales, previously ONS) and Ian Gordon (Houses of Parliament Restoration & Renewal Programme, previously National Highways).

This event is highly recommended for CDIOs, CDOs, Heads of Data (Architecture, Engineering and Science) and other similar roles. Register today to reserve your virtual seat and share the invitation with your colleagues, too. We look forward to you joining us.
