Valtech wins UX Design Awards | Concept 2019

August 20, 2019

The 'Fuel ordering app for pilots' app, which was developed conceptually and visually by Valtech for Lufthansa, won the Concept Award 2019 at the UX Design Awards. In a two-day jury session, the innovative concept, which was developed in close cooperation with Lufthansa, was able to fully convince the jurors. The app helps the more than 5,000 pilots estimate increased fuel demand, e.g. in bad weather at the destination airport. Going forward, the experience of the pilots will be supported by a data-based methodology. This will not only save time in preparation, but also reduce CO2 emissions.

The UX Design Award is an international competition for outstanding user experience. Among submissions from more than 20 countries, the seven-member panel of experts selected around 50 projects and concepts to participate. In July, the jury panel of the UX Design Award then entered the premises of the IDZ to evaluate all nominated projects in detail and to identify the winners of the Product and Concept categories as well as the Gold Award winner. At the same time, the preparations for the presentation of all nominated exhibits at the IFA 2019 in Berlin are in full swing. The nominee exhibition takes place from September 6 to 11, 2019 from 10am to 6pm; the award ceremony will take place September 6 at 5.45pm.
