How a first-of-its-kind mobile experience positioned FOX as a leader in connected vehicles

FOX is the leading name in high-performance suspension systems for powersports, mountain biking and off-road vehicles. Known for pushing technical boundaries, FOX has a loyal following of enthusiasts and OEM partners who rely on their precision and performance.

FOX set out to transform how drivers interact with vehicle dynamics by putting suspension tuning directly into the user's hands.

This was a bold goal. FOX was looking for a way to give users the ability to monitor and control ride dynamics in real time.

They needed a solution that would match their innovation standards while delivering real-time insights, seamless interaction and a path to scale the technology across vehicle lines and OEM partners.

The challenge was twofold, then:

• Design a first-of-its-kind mobile experience for the FOX Factory Edition Silverado.
• Build a scalable data-powered platform that could evolve with new products and use cases. 

We kicked off a six-month discovery phase with strategy workshops alongside FOX and their partners. Over the next 18 months, our cross-functional teams worked in an agile setup to design and build a fully connected mobile experience.

The mobile app, FOX Powered Vehicles, launched in the summer of 2024. 

• A fully immersive mobile platform that allows users to monitor and control ride dynamics on the go, and record epic rides to relive later
• Real-time data visualization for key inputs like shock travel, throttle and steering angle
• A brand-aligned user interface that simplifies complex telemetry into intuitive insights
• A flexible architecture designed to support expansion across different vehicle platforms and OEM partners 

The project brought together design, data and development in a way that’s rare for automotive experiences. We translated complex telemetry into visuals that are easy to understand and engaging to use. The platform also gives FOX a powerful new data source to learn from customers and improve future products.
