The role
Valtech is hiring a Google Cloud Security Architect to join our growing delivery team. The ideal candidate is senior enough to provide technical thought leadership with minimal direction, has hands-on experience with Google Cloud engineering and architecture, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, data-driven systems.
You will work on a meaningful cloud transformation initiative with a marquee client, leading the design and implementation of GCP-native solutions across security, data, analytics, and platform services. The ideal candidate is collaborative, analytical, and ready to solve complex business and technology challenges. Strong communication and leadership skills are a must.
Experience in Agile or consulting environments is essential.
Role responsibilities
As a Google Cloud Security Architect, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the cloud strategies and solutions for one of our clients. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is embedded in every layer of our cloud architecture.
You will:
- Lead security architecture design for Google Cloud solutions.
- Provide expert guidance on IAM, VPC design, encryption, threat detection, and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct security assessments, risk analysis, and remediation planning.
- Support pre-sales activities by contributing to proposals, SOWs, and client workshops.
- Introduce and implement enterprise-grade policies for GCP networking, resource governance, and secure access
- Liaise with Google Partner Engineers to stay ahead of platform updates and best practices.
- Mentor engineers, review designs, and serve as the technical authority for GCP architecture decisions
- Advocate for security-first thinking across both clients and help us build a leading Security Practice.
Must have qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or security engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like IAM, Cloud Armor, Security Command Center, and Chronicle.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native security principles, DevSecOps, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience with workload migration and infrastructure modernization.
- Excellent communication skills and a consultative mindset.
- Certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.

The benefits
This is a full time position based in New York City, United States. The offered salary range is $180,000-$225,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
