The role  

As the Senior Director, People & Culture – Nordics, you will become part of our Regional People & Culture Leadership Team in Europe with specific focus on being a strategic partner to the Nordic MD and Executive Leadership Team. You’ll lead the People & Culture function across Denmark and Sweden and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the people strategy during a time of transformation and growth, ensuring operational excellence while fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture. This role is both strategic and hands-on - balancing long-term vision with day-to-day leadership. You will lead a team of People & Culture Business Partners in the Nordics, ensuring operational excellence, employee engagement and growth, and organizational development while championing Valtech’s employee experience and culture. As a member of both the Nordic Leadership Team and the European People & Culture Leadership Team, you’ll align local initiatives with regional and global strategies. driving cultural alignment.

Role responsibilities

 

· Strategic Leadership & Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Nordic MD and leadership team on all people and culture matters
  • Represent the People function on the Nordic Leadership Team and contribute to business strategy
  • Collaborate with the European People & Culture Team to align local initiatives with regional and global strategies

· Team Leadership Across Markets

  • Lead, inspire and grow a team of People & Culture Business Partners across multiple locations in Denmark and Sweden
  • Foster collaboration, consistency, and knowledge sharing across markets while respecting local nuances
  • Define the future shape and size of the Nordic People & Culture team in line with our business needs, both in the Nordics as well as across the European region

· Integration & Change Management

  • Lead the people integration efforts following recent acquisitions, ensuring a seamless cultural and operational transition
  • Align compensation, benefits, and employment practices across Denmark and Sweden
  • Orchestrate restructuring and change initiatives

· People Experience & Culture

  • Own the end-to-end employee experience, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Champion Valtech’s EVP and embed a strong, inclusive culture across the organisation
  • Lead engagement strategies and initiatives to nurture and improve employee satisfaction and reduce attrition

· Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with Danish and Swedish labour laws and HR best practices
  • Align to global and regional initiatives to implement scalable global solutions, policies and processes
  • Reduce local manual admin and processes through platform automation and use of AI

· Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  • Partner with the global DEI function to localize and lead initiatives that foster inclusion and belonging
  • Support learning pathways for underrepresented groups and promote allyship

 

Must have experience

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential experience: 

 

  • Strong business acumen from and proven experience in a senior People & Culture leadership role, ideally within a consulting, digital, or agency environment
  • Demonstrated success in acting as and leading People & Culture Business Partners across multiple markets and locations
  • You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems, and influencing at the executive level
  • Comfortable operating in and managing multiple stakeholders in a matrixed, global organization
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach - able to zoom out and lead, but also ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty to make things happen
  • An energetic, resilient leader with a strong sense of ownership, a “We before Me” mindset and great communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of Danish and Swedish labour law and experience managing teams in both markets
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Danish and/or Swedish is a strong advantage
