Reflecting on International Men’s Day: Strength and well-being

November 12, 2025

At Valtech, we’re committed to creating environments where everyone can thrive as their unique self and contribute to innovation across our global team. Celebrating International Men’s Day reinforces our focus on community and inclusivity, two of our five pillars of diversity and inclusion that guide everything we do.

November 19 invites us to reflect on the experiences and contributions of men around the world. This year at Valtech, we’re approaching the day through the lens of mental health and well-being, recognizing that well-being is not only physical, but deeply emotional and psychological, too.

To mark this day, we’ve hosted an engaging and important conversation with Valtech men from all different walks of life, cultures, backgrounds and more. This global conversation helped us open up sensitive topics, such as:

  • Recognising how our experiences differ based on where we are based
  • How these men have built resilience in difficult times
  • How all of them balance being working parents
  • The importance of truly prioritising their mental health at all times.

We asked our panelists what International Men’s Day means to them. Here’s what they had to say:

Ayoola “Ayo” Olatunde, Delivery Manager

“International Men’s Day is a reminder that strength isn’t just physical. It’s found in character, compassion and the courage to grow.”

Fernando Campos, Creative Director

“Despite some progress—which I still consider modest—in terms of inclusion and diversity in our societies, this date reminds us that we live in a fundamentally patriarchal world. And we must strive to change that, as it clearly hasn’t been working.”

Ashish Thomas, VP Connected Experiences Practice

“In a world built by men, an International Men’s Day felt unnecessary, even ironic, at first. Pompous, if I am honest. But as I have sat with it, I have come to see it as not a celebration but an admission, the systems men built are weighing them down.”

Arturas Kvederis, Regional Managing Director

“I personally do not celebrate it, but it is a good chance to stop just for a minute and think about oneself, about how we grew up, about others around — we all have our life stories that shape us one way or the other, and I personally feel privileged despite all the challenges behind and in front of me.”

By opening conversations about mental health, emotional resilience and social expectations, we create space for men to share their experiences authentically. To talk, listen and support one another.

This International Men’s Day, let’s continue to challenge stereotypes, encourage vulnerability and promote well-being for everyone.
