The role  

As a Mobile Engineer, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 5 YEARS of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 

  •  Strong experience with Android (Kotlin/Java), services, IPC/binding, background execution constraints.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) fundamentals and in-vehicle UX constraints.
  • Familiarity with media controls: MediaSession, audio focus, Bluetooth audio behaviors, system intents.
  • Proven experience integrating an LLM (Gemini, OpenAI, etc.) into a product: 
    o    tool/function calling patterns,
    o    prompt design for reliability,
    o    streaming responses, timeouts, fallbacks, and safety gating.
  • Strong API engineering skills: REST/gRPC, auth (OAuth2/JWT), rate limiting, caching, retries, circuit breakers.
  • Ability to implement a thin orchestration layer (Node/Java/Kotlin/Python) if needed for token brokerage and tool routing.
  • Practical security engineering: secure storage, certificate pinning (where applicable), transport security, least-privilege permissions.
  • Data minimization and privacy-by-design; experience with compliance requirements (LGPD/GDPR style).
  • CI/CD, Git-based workflows, code review hygiene.
  • Debugging at system level (logs, ANRs, memory/CPU, network profiling).
  • Strong stakeholder communication across OEM, supplier, and agency teams.

 

Nice to have qualifications  

  • Automotive HMI guidelines and driver distraction standards familiarity (principles, not necessarily certification work).
  • Experience with speech UX (ASR/TTS tuning, barge-in, latency optimization, multilingual PT-BR).
  • Experience integrating with Google Automotive Services (GAS) environments.
  • Experience with Stoneridge, NNG/iGO environments, or supplier-led head unit constraints.
  • Observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, Crashlytics, Grafana/Prometheus, ELK
