Valtech received the EcoVadis Gold Medal with 68 out of 100 possible points in recognition of this achievement. The assessment is further proof that the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is of immense importance at Valtech.

EcoVadis is a provider of evidence-based sustainability ratings. More than 65,000 companies from over 200 industries in 160 countries around the world use EcoVadis to evaluate themselves and their supply chain. The methodological framework assesses the policies and actions of companies as well as their published reports on the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
"A large part of our customers is a member of the EcoVadis network. They attach great importance to ensuring that their service providers and suppliers meet the high sustainability standards to which they have committed themselves. The medal is our statement to our customers, partners and employees that we take sustainability seriously and actively promote it. I am all the more pleased that we have been able to make significant progress in the past year and have thus met even more of our social and social responsibilities," says Uwe Tüben, Managing Director at Valtech.
In 2019, Valtech achieved a total score of 50 out of 100 points and thus achieved the silver medal. On the basis of the corresponding scorecard, the strengths and areas of improvement were analysed in order to derive corrective action plans and to better target sustainability efforts. The fact that CSR performance has improved significantly as a result is made clear by this year's results of the ranking.
Electricity consumption has been identified as a key parameter for the sustainable orientation of the digital agency. While the company has taken measures to reduce it, it has been ensured in parallel that all sites are supplied exclusively with green electricity, i.e. renewable energy. This also applies to outsourced data centres, which account for the bulk of total consumption.
In addition, zero-waste procurement management was introduced in 2020. In the sense of the waste prevention strategy, sustainability is taken into account when purchasing preferably unpackaged goods or with the use of refill and reusable containers, even during the purchasing process. The Digital Agency also expects its suppliers to comply with environmental standards in order to ensure a sustainable supply chain. In addition, all sites were equipped with tap water treatment plants as well as waste separation systems.
