Volkswagen Group

Volkswagen Group is one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers. Founded in 1937, the company has evolved from producing the iconic Beetle to operating a portfolio that spans 12 major brands in more than 150 countries.

The brand’s success is built on never-ending ambition. Since 2016, Group has been pursuing bold transformation goals, which include becoming the world market leader in e-mobility and developing the industry's strongest digital ecosystem.

Pursuing a software-driven future

Volkswagen Group

In mobility, leadership is no longer defined by the vehicle, but by the ecosystem around it. That’s why the world’s largest carmakers are racing to create connected experiences that drive market share and recurring revenue.

To accelerate its transition from traditional manufacturing to a software-driven mobility model, Volkswagen Group wanted to build a unified back-end platform capable of supporting tens of millions of connected vehicles. Their vision was to consolidate fragmented customer journeys, unlock new revenue streams and create the agility to compete like a tech company.

  • Empowers VW brands to offer individual services.
  • Enhances existing services like emergency assistance and remote vehicle access.
  • Improves safety standards across all models.
  • Integrates legacy systems and processes.

The platform quickly became the Group's standard for vehicle networking and the world's largest automotive back-end platform.

Where next? To the cloud

Volkswagen Group

We’re playing a pivotal role in the strategy, development and implementation of the platform’s cloud-based successor, VW Automotive Cloud, which will deliver millions of connected, personalized experiences to Volkswagen Group’s customers. That includes implementing Functions-on-Demand (FOD), Remote Vehicle Control, Online Remote Updates and customer services like Audi Themes enabling the integration of third parties.
