The role  

As a People & Culture Partner, you will be a visible and present member of the People & Culture team and the partner of choice for our Executive team.  You will work both locally, and globally with your peers to create an engaging people offering that is market leading, engaging and a compelling retention tool.

You’ll need to roll your sleeves up to deep dive into your respective business areas to learn all about what makes them tick, working alongside our leaders to proactively lead on all things people related.  This role will be supported by the People & Culture Director, who will help develop strategic business partnering skills.

In addition to your people partnering responsibilities, you will be accountable for diversity & inclusion within the UK business.  With access to global tools, you will design and deliver a local D&I strategy which you’ll deliver on in collaboration with our wider teams.  You will be a specialist in this area and known as the go-to person when it comes to people data; creating a pathway for this subject across the organisation.  High challenge, high support is what this role is about.  You will be the gatekeeper, and the ear to the ground, collecting and sharing insights which will improve colleague and business performance.
 

 Role responsibilities

You’ll be involved in a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

People Business Partnering

  • Working closely alongside the Executive leaders assigned to you, you will become part of their leadership team, immersing yourself in understanding their data, their challenges and being the go-to person for all things people.
  • You will deeply understand the commercial performance of the team and wider organisation. Including each of the roles, their impact and purpose in the business.
  • As a Senior HRBP you will be expected to take on slightly more challenging functions, using the skills and experience gained to really drive these teams to high performance, using creativity and pragmatism to problem solve and develop solutions.
  • It goes without saying, that a core part of your role will be delivering professional HR advice and support aligned to the business plan and people strategy.
  • You will play a crucial role in ensuring that performance management, talent development and succession planning are all aligned to the future business strategy
  • Drive and identify opportunities to increase employee engagement
  • Identify behaviours within teams that are require support or development and work collaboratively to drive change and transformation
  • Work in close partnership with your stakeholders, influencing and challenging people decisions and bringing balance and conscience to decision making
  • Brilliantly execute our people processes throughout the employee lifecycle and look for opportunities to improve them as we scale and grow

Our People Team

  • As a senior member of the People & Culture team, you will drive forwards the people strategy always looking for opportunities to drive improvement and deliver on our plan.
  • You will occasionally cover for the People & Culture Director in key meetings and support them in monitoring and managing overall employee morale and motivation
  • You will coach and support team members, and be a key member of the global team working to promote all of the things we do well

Diversity & Inclusion

  • Quickly establish yourself as the UK representative on the subject of diversity & inclusion. It will be your responsibility to create and execute a local D&I plan.
  • You will be responsible for communicating the D&I plan as well as regularly communicating D&I data regularly to the UK and wider global organisation ensuring D&I remains on the agenda
  • Spend time understanding and researching the external market looking at how we can improve and how we can promote our D&I work externally
  • You will take ownership of creation and helping representatives to successfully run our belonging groups
  • Take ownership for the development of an engaging and meaningful calendar of D&I events throughout the year
  • Development and delivery of D&I training and development plan and ultimate accountability for its delivery

 

About You

Within the People and Culture team at Valtech we work collaboratively and cohesively as a team. People and Culture need to be leading the way in supporting our employee lifecycle, data management and being involved in every team to really grow and support our talented people. In this role, we need somebody with great intuition and amazing people skills and the ability to truly partner with our managers and wider business areas to advise and guide appropriately and with purpose.

We want you to be brave and dare to challenge the status quo, but we are also looking for people who are empathetic and caring as kindness is at the heart of what we do. It is important that you have a solid commercial understanding; knowing how to make decisions based on financial and commercial metrics and drivers is important. You will be adaptable and able to pivot and adapt quickly as the business continues to grow and evolve.

You will also have;

  • Proven extensive experience in a Senior HR Business Partner role working alongside key stakeholders, in a people/human resources function challenging and supporting individuals
  • Demonstrable Employee Relations skills, commercial thinking and an engaging and bright personality
  • Able to quickly build positive and effective relationships
  • Ability to manage a project and demonstrate proven experience in process improvement. A continuous improvement mindset is important here and were looking for people who want to drive positive change
  • Previous experience in a fast paced, ever-changing business environment. For example, but not limited to, high growth tech, tech consultancy or PE/VC backed organisations– this role is busy and requires fast communication, high levels of attention to detail and the ability to pivot daily.
  • Able to travel to our London office 2 days per week. And the ability to travel across the UK to our offices in Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh when required.
