Back to the role:

What you will do:

Reporting to the Regional Controller North America, you will support the day-to-day operations of the finance department for the Valtech Canada entity. You will provide accounting control with excellent analysis and participate in process improvement.

  • Participate in all operational functions related to accounting;
  • Validate the accuracy of the information required for billing and revenue recognition on various type of contracts, reconcile different systems and monitoring work in progress;
  • Manage the accumulation of all financial data necessary to accurately perform accounting and reporting of the consolidated business results and monthly financial statements;
  • Record various journal entries;
  • Perform various balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Process intercompany transactions;
  • Ensure good communication with the project managers;
  • Prepare and oversee the year-end package with the external auditors;
  • Prepare files for government tax credits;
  • Be responsible for compliance with the various laws in force in Quebec (taxes, etc.);
  • Prepare various analyses and ad hoc reports for senior management;
  • Develop tools and track Corporate and Service lines performance measures;
  • Participate in effective internal control;
  • Support budgeting and planning activities.

What you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or a relevant field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar position in the service industry;
  • CPA designation (preferred);
  • Thorough knowledge of the accounting cycle;
  • Experience with OpenAir, ERP and HFM systems (Oracle);
  • Good knowledge of Excel;
  • Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written;
  • Good organizational and stress management skills;
  • Ability to popularize accounting information;
  • Great leadership skills, with experience managing change, anticipating problems and finding effective solutions;
