The Role
We are seeking a Technical Lead – Backend with deep expertise in Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC) to join our agile multi-brand eCommerce delivery team supporting global luxury brands. This role is critical to driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend solutions, implementing SFRA and Headless Commerce architectures, and mentoring development teams to ensure high standards and innovation across implementations. You will be instrumental in leading technical strategy, architecture, and execution across complex multi-site ecosystems, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Own the backend architecture and design for SFCC implementations across multiple brands/sites. Define and enforce backend best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. Guide decision-making around SFRA vs. Headless approaches (OCAPI/SCAPI) based on business needs.
Development & Delivery: Lead development and optimization of SFCC backend functionality using SFRA, OCAPI, and SCAPI. Develop reusable cartridges and robust integrations with third-party services (payment, OMS, CRM, analytics). Leverage out-of-the-box (OOB) features effectively to reduce technical debt and accelerate delivery. Ensure performance, security, and accessibility standards are embedded into every backend solution. Manage deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines for code quality and automation.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with frontend engineers, solution architects, product managers, and QA for end-to-end delivery. Perform code reviews, conduct knowledge sharing sessions, and mentor junior to mid-level developers. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Documentation & Support: Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, API specifications, and deployment guidelines. Support handovers, issue resolution, and post-deployment maintenance as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend development experience in Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
- Proven expertise with SFRA and Headless Commerce (OCAPI, SCAPI). Strong command of JavaScript, ISML, server-side scripting, and Business Manager customization.
- Demonstrated experience with third-party integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, payment gateways, etc.). Deep understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies, and secure coding practices.
- Strong grasp of multi-site, multi-brand, internationalization, and localization requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to translate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications
- Salesforce B2C Commerce Developer Certification – Required
- Salesforce B2C Commerce Architect Certification – Preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SFCC CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.).
- Proficient with tools like Git, Jira, Confluence, and agile project tracking tools. Familiarity with DevOps principles, containerization, or cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Exposure to PWA, headless frontends (React, Vue), and composable commerce architecture.
