Henkel Adhesive Technologies is one of the three business units of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. Henkel Adhesive Technologies is a global leader in tailor-made solutions for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings.
In addition to the Pritt, Loctite, Ceresit and Pattex brands for end consumers, the portfolio of industrial products consists of the five Technology Cluster Brands - Loctite, Bonderite, Technomelt, Teroson and Aquence.
Valtech developed a B2B e-commerce platform with the Enterprise Shop Solution SAP CX and an Angular Frontend with an international Scrum team in six months and rolled it out in the pilot market USA. In addition to the backend and frontend development, the Valtech team was responsible for the identification of the customer's desired features using design thinking methods, UX and visual design of the platform, as well as the operation and maintenance & support. In addition, Valtech trains the stakeholders in the countries in the agile way of working.
In addition to the continuous feature-based further development of the platform in an international LeSS team setup, the global rollout has been underway since January 2017. Currently, in addition to the USA, industrial customers from the Asia-Pacific region and most of Europe have access to the platform and use it to process transactions with a volume of > EUR 1 billion. Now the first South American countries are already in the starting blocks.
In 2016, Henkel Adhesive Technologies approached Valtech with the challenge of transforming its existing ordering platform for industrial customers into a "Shoppable Knowledge Hub" in just six months. The new platform was to serve industrial customers not only as an eShop, but was to become the central hub of their communication with Henkel Adhesive Technologies and be the number one source of information.
Together with Valtech, Henkel Adhesive Technologies has opted for an agile project approach to ensure the necessary flexibility in terms of feature requirements and rapid feedback from the customer. For Henkel Adhesive Technologies, this was one of the lighthouse projects within the scope of its Digital Strategy 2020+ and the transformation of the company's organization "from a supertanker to a speedboat".
