We are looking for a Middle Data Engineer to join a big project from UK. The client is a large global company with several digital retailers. It is the number one destination for shoppers who value flexible payment options. It receives over 2.2 million visits every day. The client is focused on the modernizing its existing systems and platforms, utilizing a wider variety of modern, cloud-based technologies.
The ideal candidate's skills include:
/ 3+ years of experience with Python and AWS cloud data warehouse platform (ideally Lambda, ECS, S3, Glue and Redshift)
/ experience with SQL, NOSQL databases, REST-oriented APIs and Business intelligence (BI) platforms;
/ excellent knowledge of data engineering principles and methods, good understanding of distributed data processing, ETL tools, data warehouses, data lakes, etc.
/ Upper-Intermediate English level
/ Accountability, strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
As a Middle Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building data pipelines to bring together information from different source systems — you will integrate, consolidate, cleanse and structure data. The aim is to make data easily accessible and to optimize the data ecosystem. Our data engineer works in conjunction with (technical) data analysts/consultants, improving data transparency and enabling businesses to make more trustworthy business decisions. Our data engineer is cloud native and helps build the structures for advanced data analysis use cases. The data engineer helps extract the data sources, loads the data in a data warehouse or data lake, and transforms the data for further analysis.
What exactly will you be doing:
/ design and build data pipelines to integrate data from various resources (build ETL’s);
/ manage big data;
/ extract data sources & load data in data warehouse/data lake;
/ transform data for further analysis.
As a consultant and as a binding part between developers and our clients you are expected to develop expertise both in technology and the means to communicate complex concepts and rationale to non-techies. We’ll encourage and support this with frequent opportunities to share ideas internally. We also have consultants who frequently deliver at regional, national and global conferences.
