Graduate Software Developer

Our Graduate Developers work as part of an experienced team to develop the code that drive websites which are robust enough to process enormous levels of traffic. The systems we develop are real world, tangible applications that are used by millions of people daily. You may have used some of the sites we build – the likes of: EasyJet, ASOS and Dyson.

We have a track record of recruiting Computer Science graduates and are able to offer highly personalised mentor led training programmes that grow your coding skills and understanding of full lifecycle commercial development.

Academic & Technical Profile of Valtech Graduates:

Evidence of academic high achievement and strong coding skills – typically a 1st or 2.1 in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related subject from a top tier University, supported by very strong A-level grades (or equivalent). We will also consider applications from Mathematicians and Physicists who are able to demonstrate strong coding skills and experience.

In terms of the technical stack experience of candidates the sort of person who is right for the role isn’t definable by the tools or libraries they use – they can absorb the appropriate technologies at the right time – the only constraint is that we typically deploy into the Microsoft stack and we typically develop in C# .NET.

We would expect applicants to have strong coding skills in an OO based language – Java, C++ or C# and (critically) a demonstrable interest in developing full stack Web based solutions.

Candidate Personal Profile:

Attitude is key. You will be passionate about Web technology, getting things done, making commitments and getting great software delivered. You will need to have an approach of – it needs doing, let me at it.

Working as a part of a multi-skilled team you will collectively determine on a day to day basis where to focus your attentions for the best interests of the team and customers. You will always be evolving in the role. You will always be questioning ‘why’ we are doing things, learning and looking for improvements and new techniques we can assimilate into the company. In turn we will help nurture your potential and talent.
