Volkswagen Group and Valtech GmbH have been collaborating in the field of connected vehicles since 2009. The collaboration was so successful that we were able to extend the partnership out to many more projects and expanded our work to encompass other companies and more work than even the examples presented here.
It was this relationship that led to Valtech Mobility, a joint venture between Volkswagen Group and Valtech. Our goal is to supply innovative solutions that are well thought out to the very last detail while offering a defined added value and can be operated intuitively. With our user-focused design and implementation methodology, we’re helping OEMs define the future of the connected vehicle and beyond.
Companies like BMW have needed to transform into tech companies to meet the needs of EV, Autonomous Driving and general IOT integration, because while car manufacturers know a lot about engines and transmissions, Alexa integration requires a different skillset. When BMW was looking to improve its autonomous driving, they turned to Valtech to help them shift from the plan-driven development process to agile development. Changing the way they work was crucial to get BMW ready to develop the technology needed to power their autonomous driving vehicles and the UX that goes with them.
As the EV revolution continues to drive across the world, it’s good to know Valtech was helping the companies leading the charge on this important journey from the beginning. When Volkswagen needed to get the word out about their upcoming selection of EVs, Valtech was there to help them build the Electric Driving hub that would serve as both a repository of knowledge and answers to FAQs, but also as a pre-booking module, allowing customers to get all the information needed to help them make the switch to electric as well as start the process of buying their first EV.
Beyond the Purchase
Delivering digital information and answering FAQs is one thing, but the truth is that the process of buying a car is also changing to suit our digital-first world. Helping to update the way customers buy cars is something Valtech is very familiar with. Whether it’s the process of choosing or creating the right car, or help with financing, we’ve got it covered.
When BMW was looking to create a more seamless experience for customers to find BMW stock cars, we helped them take that project to the next level by creating a new car configurator. The result is a unique car matchmaking system that perfectly matches the customer with the perfect car from BMW’s fleet of options. While building a car online is simple, completing a car purchase online can be a little more difficult.
That’s why when Toyota was looking to test out whether buying a car online was something their customers would be interested in, they partnered with Valtech to build the platform that would facilitate that. Now, Toyota Financial Services can finance a car purchase without the customer needing to visit a dealership.
Having worked with such industry giants on projects that touch on each important aspect of the customer experience journey led us down the path towards creating an entire business focused on one specific vertical.
