The role
Valtech is looking for a Senior React Developer to shape our end-to-end data and AI landscape. You will own the technical strategy, design, and technical roll-out of a secure, governed, and future-proof AI eco-system that creates automation of workflows in our services across the business. By working at the intersection of our business, legal, compliance, cyber security, and IT, you’ll convert ideas into scalable solutions and thereby raise AI literacy company-wide.

Role responsibilities
- Work on custom projects for clients, sometimes very closely with their team
- Keep a healthy communication with your project manager and client
- Take active part in all project stages – analysis, estimation, documentation, coding, bug fixing and support
- Learn from your colleagues and teach them what you know
Must have qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- 5+ years professional experience with JavaScript, including 5+ years building applications with React
- 3+ years of experience using TypeScript
- Strong understanding of OOP and functional programming in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Expertise in semantic HTML5 and modern CSS3, including responsive design and accessibility best practices
- Experience with CSS methodologies (BEM, utility-first, CSS-in-JS) and frameworks (Tailwind, Styled Components, etc.)
- Proficiency with state management (Redux, Zustand, Recoil, etc.)
- Solid understanding of asynchronous request handling (Promises, async/await, API integration)
- Familiarity with versioning control with Git
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, including code reviews and mentoring
- Excellent communication skills (everything from showing empathy to being able to present your ideas clearly and resolve conflicts in a non-violent way)
- Good command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
Nice to have qualifications
- Experience with other JS frameworks and libraries (Angular, Vue.js, Next.js, Stencil.js, etc.)
- Experience with React Native, Ionic, Cordova, Electron or other hybrid development frameworks
- Knowledge in back-end development with Node.js
- Familiarity with modern front-end build tools and bundlers (e.g., Webpack, Vite, esbuild, Parcel) and optimization techniques.
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
- Performance optimization in large-scale React applications
