What are you working on right now?
”At the moment I’m mostly sitting at GN Hearing as Project Manager in the IT department, helping them manage the eCommerce deliveries they have. It’s important for us that clients want to come to our office and work, but it’s also important for us to come to them, to make sure we have the best possible common ground.”
The best part of your job is…?
“The best part of my job is without a doubt all the different people I get to meet and all the different businesses I get to know – inside out. The insights I get into various businesses, digital challenges and solutions, organizations and people, and how I get to use that to help others, is the best part of my job. I’m a curious person, so I really love getting under the skin of companies, understanding their business as well as their internal politics. I still remember the first pitch I was part of here at Valtech, where my boss, Søren, showed the potential client a slide of two identical brains. Ours on one side and the client’s on the other. The point was to explain that we’re not smarter than our clients, we’re exactly the same. What we, as consultants, do have is experience from a great variety of different challenges and the learnings that enable us to help our clients fast and effectively.

Why this job?
“I started at the client side. But I’m a super curious person. I think it’s the best having to decrypt various people, to truly understand how to get the most from the collaboration with them. Both internally and externally. Externally I now get that from working with different clients. But internally is just as good. Because, I mean, we’re more than 140 people here at the office, not just from 28 different nationalities but so many different personalities; Extreme introverts, extreme extroverts, people who are all about the process and people who are all about the results. Each collaboration provides new constellations, which in turn requires you to understand what motivates people and how we can make great results – together. That’s fun!”
Isn’t it difficult being stuck in the middle?
“Well, most of the time it’s my job to be the one in the middle; the one that focuses on the business’ needs but also have the direct connection to my colleagues here at Valtech, who are delivering to the project. Usually it’s not difficult at all, because naturally we want to deliver what makes the clients happy. The key to make this happen is the close connection I have with the client – and the in depth understanding of what they need, combined with the close connection I have to our developers and designers here – and the in depth understanding of what they need to know, to do their job best possible. So no. It’s where I get to use the understandings I have and that’s really a joy.”
The best days at work are when….?
“We help our clients make something really cool. And more often than not, those are exactly the cases where we’ve established a trusted relationship and have become advisors more than simply technical suppliers. This is where we get to take our clients even further and also get to take our designers, developers, strategists, etc. to higher levels.
The best part of working at Valtech is that it never gets boring. There’s nothing standardized. Each project is new and every time we aim for the sky. I’m surrounded by incredible, talented people who all want to deliver the best in the business. Who wouldn’t be motivated by that.?”

What does the future hold?
“Hopefully within the near future businesses understand the reality of digital and shut down their Digital departments – they should not be in a silo! Digital has to be the underlying bass in everything that goes on in businesses, on all levels! It seems that businesses are beginning to realize this and the talks are beginning to bloom, but I’m afraid there’s a long way from talking about it to walking the walk. Everyone have been talking about Omni- and Cross-channel for years but I don’t believe anyone will get there until digital is a natural part of all initiatives in the businesses.”
