The role  

Valtech is hiring a Google Solutions Architect to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is senior enough to provide technical thought leadership with minimal direction, has hands-on experience with Google Cloud engineering and architecture, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, data-driven systems. 

You will work on enterprise cloud transformation initiatives, leading the design and implementation of GCP-native solutions across security, data, analytics, and platform services. The ideal candidate is collaborative, analytical, and ready to solve complex business and technology challenges. Strong communication and leadership skills are a must. 

Experience in Agile or consulting environments is a plus. If you're a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven setting--read on! 

Role responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the implementation of secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 
  • Provide thought leadership and expert guidance across cloud architecture, data engineering, and security domains
  • Design and integrate data processing pipelines using tools like DataFlow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Apache Beam
  • Guide security architecture using Google IAM, Identity-Aware Proxy, Organization Policy Service, and Cloud Logging and Monitoring
  • Champion DevOps practices, CI/CD, and modern deployment methods using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Kubernetes (GKE), and Cloud Repositories
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and technical stories
  • Introduce and implement enterprise-grade policies for GCP networking, resource governance, and secure access
  • Drive adoption of observability and compliance tooling with Google Cloud Operations, Vertex AI, and Looker
  • Promote data integrity, governance, and reliability across GCP and Google Workspace ecosystems
  • Evaluate usage metrics, optimize architectures, and continuously improve system performance
  • Mentor engineers, review designs, and serve as the technical authority for GCP architecture decisions 

 

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 

  • Located in New York City 
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform 
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale cloud projects and data platforms 
  • CISSP or CISM certification
  • Deep technical knowledge of the following GCP services:
    • Google BigQuery, Pub/Sub, DataFlow, Cloud Storage
    • Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, GKE
    • IAM, IAP, Organization Policy Service
    • Cloud Logging and Monitoring
    • Vertex AI, Looker, Google Workspace
    • GCP Networking, Cloud Repositories 
  • Strong development background in:
    • Java + Apache Beam
    • Python 
  • Standard logging formats and text/log-based processing 
  • Strong understanding of secure design principles and cloud governance
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 

Nice to have qualifications  

  • Familiarity with: 
    • Logscale (formerly Humio) 
    • Secureonix 
    • Syslog-NG 
  • Prior experience with security operations, SIEM integration, or threat modeling in cloud environments 
  • Experience leading small to medium-sized development teams (6–8 engineers)
  • Prior involvement in enterprise data governance, metadata management, or cloud-native data lakes
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions using Vertex AI
  • Enthusiastic about DevSecOps, serverless frameworks, and next-gen cloud-native tooling
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline

The benefits  

This is a full time position based in New York in the United States. This position requires onsite time in New York. The offered salary range is $170-269K annually, depending on experience and location.
